| Canon EF 28-135 IS USM lens. A good general purpose zoom. 01/02/2010 I bought this lens as a general purpose 'walk round' zoom for both my film and digital SLR cameras. (Yes, some of us still use film!) For my film camera it provides an excellent zoom range. For my crop-sensor DSLR the range becomes 45-216, ie limited for wide angle shots. Those needing wide angle for their crop-sensor DSLR would be better served by the (more expensive) EF-S 15-85 IS lens, equivalent to 28-135 in film terms. The lens is a typical Canon mid-range product, of reasonable cost & weight and with decent build & optical performance. Auto focus is accurate & fairly fast, and IS is a 'must have' for me.
