| Great piece of kit 31/05/2010 I used this lens for a couple of weeks to cover several portraiture shoots I had planned. It's incredibly well built and the image quality is fantastic, being incredibly sharp and having a great compression / background blur. I did on a few occasions, however, find myself trying to get a little tighter in, only to find myself being prevented from doing so by the minimum focusing distance. For this reason, I will consider the EF 135mm L next time round to cover those shots, and just stand back a little more for the others!Canon EF 135mm f/2.0L USM Fixed Focal Length Lens By A. | Very nice lens 15/09/2009 Build quality is very good. Compact, quiet, quick to focus. Dependent on your camera settings you can either achieve pin sharp pictures or blur the background. It is very versatile. I've long been a fan of 'L' series zoom lenses but with this lens on a 5D and a 5D II I am becoming more creative. Zoom lenses make you lazy. I'm not prepared to pay the price for fixed focal length 'L' primes. This lens is a perfect substitute. By JB Paterson Renfrewshire, Scotland | ||||||
| Very Pleased 17/08/2008 Very pleased with this. It arrived really quickly and I've had no issues with it at all. Its a great lens that's really made a noticeable difference to the quality of my pictures. Great one for portraiture especially, but still great for any other nature or landscape shots, etc... | great lens 28/12/2009 great lens. good quality. Haven't had any complaints about it so far. Very heavy. Doesn't feel cheap like some of the canon lenses. By Jennifer Plante Gaffney, SC | ||||||
| AMAZING portrait lens 11/12/2009 I can't believe that everyone hasn't rated this 5 stars...I can't imagine what faults people find with this or what they are comparing it to to rank it less than 5. This is the most amazing lens and produces incredible portraits with a sharpness that is unmatched. It also creates a very shallow depth of field with a smooth bokeh. I picked this one up off ebay in near mint condition for about $230 (a steal I'm sure). I also have the 50mm F/1.8, the 200mm F/2.8, the 70-210mm F/4 and a few others. I would say I use this one the most...while it is a little long for indoor portraits it's ok and I still use it indoors for events and weddings or individuals when I have some room to work. It's the sharpest lens and I get amazing pictures every time. Go over to flickr and look up tags with this lens and you'll see some great shots. In short, I would run, don't walk to get this lens By Douglas Marshall South Florida | ||||||
