| A glimpse in the world of professionals 01/09/2010 A year ago I purchased my first DSLR - Nikon D60. I was quite pleased with the camera and took over 10.000 photos with it. But as my skills were getting better I realised I need something more and Nikon's D90 seemed like an obvious choice. I've been using it now for over a month and it proved to be everything I expected it to be and more, with it's main advantages over D60 being 11 focus points (over D60's 3), the control panel (top LCD display), bracketing function, live view, depth-of-field function, much wider choice of lenses that can be used, better sensor and higher ISO. I highly recommend it being used with the battery grip MB-D80. I've been using the grip from the beginning and don't think I will take it off any time soon. Camera just feels great to hold with the grip (not to mention the battery life). I would highly recommend Nikon D90 to anyone who wants to explore the beautiful world of DSLR more seriously. You won't be disappointed. By Tameer | ||||||
| Nikon, life in ON mode 25/08/2010 Its my first SLR and am loving it. Everything is perfect however its really heavy but then its an SLR with a really big lens (18-105mm). Dont know much about SLRs but in simple words, it takes pictures the way you want not the way a camera wants so you always get a picture you would expect. You also get HD recording which many other companies like the Canon do not offer. In short, i would describe it as the soul of your photos in your hand. UPDATE: Just an update that when I bought the D90 in 2008 it was the first DSLR with HD recording(the above comment is old, now many DLRs offer hd recording). The history of dSLRs with high-def movie capture, however, started with the Nikon D90 taking the lead in 2008, the facility was soon stolen by the more expensive Canon EOS 5D Mark II and now many more. | Outstanding! 04/08/2010 I just want to give my impression after using the Nikon D90 for several months now: this camera is fantastic. Shooting with it is a pleasure I enjoy every day. Its picture quality is unmatched by its competitors. Nikon got it right: they choose to improve the picture quality instead of luring inexperienced and silly "consumers" who understand nothing about photography and think that pixel count has something to do with picture quality. Let the fools follow megapixels. The Nikon D90 is about picture quality: detail, definition, dynamic range, color, low noise. If you have passion for photography this camera should be with you. | Nikon D90 Great camera 10/07/2010 I bought this after reading the reviews most of which talked highly of the camera. I bought this just before going to Spain for a holiday. It did not take much time to learn how to use it. Use the automatic to point and shoot first and get used to the camera gadgets later. The pictures are stunning and sharp. This is my first DSLR after using compacts for a long time. I used to have a 35mm before then. Camera handling is great. I would recommend it to anyone. I wish to thank the people who posted their comments which influenced my decision. In the end I compared Canon 550D, Nikon D90, D3000 and D5000 before settling for the D90. Besides the lens extends from 18-105. Go and have a feel of the camera. It is slightly heavier than the others but the grip is great and the pictures are stunning and sharp. That is what you want when you spend this kind of money. Regards By An observer UK | ||||||
