I was considering both an entry level digital camera and a digital video recorder. Someone suggested that I try the EOS 550d – and I have to say I am certainly not regretting it. The camera is fairly light but feels sturdy. The function buttons make sense, and the colour and clarity of the pictures I've taken have been perfect. It's so great to take a picture of my family in a restaurant and know I can print it out and it's going to look perfect in a frame.
I also particularly like the live view function because being relatively new to photography I can see on Live View what all the setting changes I am making are doing to the final picture.
